if only...

I had the loveliest dream last night.
In it I was done with school, living in a share house(that included a kickass rose garden) with my three best friends and going to Uni. Then I found myself this adorable tiny apartment. It was literally like a little box. But I loved it, and i bought it, and now i'm wishing the dream was true.

What to be...

It's Spring time again. Hooray! I can almost smell the pretty little dresses and iced tea. But, as the end of the year rapidly approaches, so does the end of grade 10,and consequently the start of my senior years at schools, which also means decision time.
Basically, the school has bombarded us with career guides, Uni broachers and subject selection booklets.

Unfortunately for me, I can't decide between interior design or architecture.
Pro's for Architecture are that you get to design most of the house, there are more jobs available, and your starting salary is higher. Cons are that you need an OP 7, spend 5 years of your valuable youth in uni, and have a hell of a lot of creative constraints.

Pros for Interior designing are that it's a littler more personal, you can fine tune the rooms to amazing detail, and it's a little more hands on and fun. Cons are that apparently it's hard to find jobs in the industry, the pay can be minimal, and there isn't a heck of a lot changes that you can make structurally. But, if I become an interior designer and open my own firm I could run a little boutique below my studio. And that would be amazing.

What do you guys think?

Vote interior or architecture :)

A's epic playlist for sunny days

I was going through Itunes compiling my favourite songs and I though I'd share. The perfect playlist always brightens up my day.

1. Sand in your Shoes - This Providence
It reminds me of summer days and the wind whipping at your face.

2. Nowhere Man - The Veils
I'm not quite sure why this song make me happy. (Opening Lyrics- "I wonder where the junkies go to die". How cheerful).

3. Bella - Angus and Julia Stone.
You're probably starting to figure out that I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic.

4. Droplets - Colbie Caillat and Jason Reeves
This song never gets old. I would have listened to it almost everyday for the past year and I still love it as much as I did the first time I heard it.

5. Just Friends - Jonas Brothers
Yep, I know that my respect points just went down 100, but the inner teenage girl in me needs something to jump around to in a completely uncoordinated and ridiculous way. Give it a listen, embrace the pure cheese, and let yourself smile because someone is actually sweet enough to write a song like that, even if it is a commercialised piece of... cheese.

Panzie Perfection

Today I went outside and discovered that my pansies had finally started to flower.

I know that it's just one , but I'm extremely proud of myself because this is the first time any of my plants have ever survived long enough to flower.
Hopefully it won't be lonely for long while we wait for the Violets to start blooming...

I started this garden a few months ago, but it's still pretty empty. I'm not sure what I want to plant next. Maybe some roses?

Thanks to the government not paying enough, the Teachers of Queensland have decided not to grace us with their presence next Tuesday while they go on strike. Yipeee!

But that made me think about the consequences of the strike.

Consequence number 1: We get the day off school.

Consequence number 2: Parents of little children have to have a day off work to look after the kids.

Consequence number 3: The politicians get pissed off.

Then, if the strike escalates, everything will start going to all hell because everyone is at home looking after their kids, and the government will have to give the teachers more money so we don't all die from the lack of the oh-so essential things like toothpaste and cigarettes.

But that made me think about the people who can't get higher pay if they go on a strike, because frankly, their services aren't that necessary.
Like Florists. I love florists, but I know a large amount of people who wouldn't care if they existed or not, which I find quite derogatory, because Florists make the world a prettier place.

If the florists ever decided to go on strike, the only way that they would ever get a pay rise, is if the crazy ass brides from hell start to egg the main offices of the floristry companies, because they can't get the antique shade pansies they want in the bridesmaids bouquets.
Then again, the government ministers might start to get jittery if they can't buy their mistresses precious bunches of roses, which are really just there to hush them up, while making them feel loved. Yes, those pollies are quite crafty.

So today is dedicated to the unappreciated professions that the female population would be lost without. Like florists, picture framers and Gynaecologists.

First Blog

Well, I feel slightly stupid introducing myself to a computer screen, so I don't think I will.
Lucky for you, because it saved you from having to read the oh so exciting details of my life. Hooray!
Basically, this blog will be dedicated to bring you lots and lots of random pretty goodness, the occasional rant, and and more pretty stuff. And when I say pretty stuff, I mean old pretty stuff.
Except for photographs I pull up. They're usually relatively new.

Starting with Lily Louise photography.
Found her on deviant art a while ago, and she's one of my favourites :)
